Just arrived and wondering what to do next? Whether you’re coming straight from the airport or arriving after some solo exploring, here’s what to expect when you check in at your hotel and how to connect with your Tour Director.
Meeting your Tour Director
If your Tour Director isn’t meeting you at the airport, you’ll connect with them at the hotel. When you arrive:
- Head to the front desk and give your full name
- Mention you are part of the EF Go Ahead Tours group
- Your Tour Director will do their best to be in the lobby to greet you, but they may be assisting other travelers
- Once you’re checked in, send a message to your Tour Director through the Go Ahead mobile app (U.S. travelers/Canadian travelers) to let them know you’ve arrived
Standard check-in time
- Hotel check-in is typically between 2 PM and 4 PM
- If you arrive earlier, your room may not be quite ready
- The front desk can store your luggage so you can stretch your legs, grab a coffee, or explore nearby
Added extra nights to the beginning of your stay?
If you've added extra nights before your tour begins, you'll be checking in on your own. Before you arrive:
- Confirm your hotel name and address in your online account: Your pre-stay hotel may be different from the main tour hotel
- Plan your own transportation: Transfers are not included during independent stay dates
At the front desk:
- Give your full name. Your room is likely booked directly under you.
- Mention EF Go Ahead Tours if they can't locate your reservation, as it may be listed under a group booking.

Your Tour Director won't be present until the main tour begins and the rest of the group arrives. Until then, our On-Tour Support Team is your go-to resource. Once your tour officially starts, your Tour Director will connect with you at the hotel.
