Travel restrictions and world events
We're currently running almost all the tours we offer. There are still a few countries that aren't open for tourism and we continue to monitor them for updates. If travel restrictions, government orders or public health advisories that will impact your tour experience aren't lifted in time for your tour to depart as scheduled, we'll notify you by email or phone around 45 days before your departure date. If you don't hear from us, you can assume that your tour and date are scheduled to run as planned.
Low tour enrollment
Unrelated to travel restrictions, we require a minimum number of travelers to run our tours, because our itineraries are designed for a specific group size. Should we need to postpone your tour date due to low enrollment, we will notify you by email prior to your Tour Finalization Date. On rare occasions, you may be notified after your Tour Finalization Date if several travelers unexpectedly cancel. However, we always do our best to run tours if the Tour Finalization Date has already passed.
What is Tour Finalization Date?
That’s when we have everything confirmed on our end—it’s an important deadline to remember as you’re getting ready to go! If you're not enrolled in AutoPay, it's when your final payment is due. The Tour Finalization Date for most tours is 70 days before departure, but it’s 90 days for Land & Cruise Tours, Customized Tours, and tours including a ride on the Rocky Mountaineer.
If your tour becomes impacted by travel restrictions or low enrollment, you will be notified by email and a Traveler Support Specialist will be happy to review all the flexible options available to you.
