Planning to connect through Lima, Peru on your upcoming adventure?
We want to make sure you're prepared for a new airport fee that went into effect in December.
The Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima has introduced an International Connection Fee of $11.86 USD per passenger. This fee applies to travelers who are connecting between two international flights at the Lima airport on the same reservation (for example, if you're flying from New York to Lima, then connecting to Rio de Janeiro).
Here's what you need to know
- You'll pay directly at the airport – The fee cannot be included in your ticket price or collected by the airline
- Payment is easy – Simply use the airport kiosks or LAP's designated payment system when you're connecting through Lima
- It's required by the airport – This is a government/airport-mandated charge, similar to other local fees you might encounter when traveling (like transit visa fees or tourism taxes)
