Landing at the airport

If you’ve booked flights with Go Ahead

A transfer from the airport to your first hotel is included if you land on the tour’s standard arrival day. A Go Ahead representative will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel.

Follow these steps once you land:

  1. Head through passport control

    • If traveling internationally, go through any required passport checks.

    • If lines are very long, message your Tour Director in the Go Ahead app to give them a heads up. If you don't have an international phone plan, you'll need to connect to the airport's free Wi-Fi (available at most airports).

  2. Grab your checked bag and enter arrivals hall

    • Once you have your bag you'll want to exit baggage claim and enter the arrivals area. Don't forget to collect any checked luggage, because once you've exited the baggage claim area you won't be allowed back in.

    • You may need to go through a customs check after collecting any checked luggage and before entering the arrivals hall.

    • If you have a Go Ahead name tag, wear it to help your driver spot you in the crowd. Also, keep an eye out for other Go Ahead travelers wearing a green lanyard and name tag!

  3. Meet your Go Ahead representative

    • Be on the lookout for a friendly face with a green EF Go Ahead Tours sign in hand. (If you're landing in London, follow these instructions instead.) If you don't see a representative immediately, please be patient and stay in the arrivals area. They may be assisting another traveler in a different terminal who's also just arrived and will be headed back shortly. For these transfers, we try to group together folks who've arrived within about an hour of each other.

    • Feel free to message your Tour Director in the Go Ahead app to let them know you've arrived. If you still don't see your driver after 45 minutes of waiting and are unable to get in touch with your Tour Director, please call our On-Tour Support Team at +1-617-619-1911.

If you’ve reserved your own flights

If you've booked your own airfare, you'll be responsible for transferring independently from the airport to your first hotel. Your Tour Director and fellow travelers will meet you at the hotel. Please ensure you have the hotel's name and address handy to ensure a smooth transfer experience. Your hotel details can be found in your Go Ahead app and can be viewed offline (without Wi-Fi or cellular data).
