Thinking about booking a tour but not sure when to make it official? If you’ve found a trip you love, we recommend reserving your spot as early as possible, especially if you’re eyeing a specific date or price.
Why booking early matters
Booking 6 to 12 months in advance is a great rule of thumb, but we typically have tour dates as far out as 2 years available if you prefer to plan early. This gives you the best chance to lock in your preferred itinerary, departure date, and current pricing. Plus, the earlier you book, the more flexibility you’ll have with payment options.
- Online through the Go Ahead Tours website (US Travelers/Canadian Travelers)

Payment options and deposits
Hold your spot with just $99 down when you enroll in AutoPay. The earlier you book, the lower your bi-weekly or monthly payments will be.
If you’re not using AutoPay, here’s what to expect for your deposit:
- $300 for most European tours
- $450 for non-European tours, Special Event Tours, Land & Cruise Tours, or Customized Tours
- The cost of any selected Travel Protection Package is due at time of booking
Booking close to departure?
We’ll always do our best to accommodate last-minute reservations. If you're booking closer to your tour’s departure date, check out our article on late reservation requests to learn more about what to expect.
