Once you’ve booked a tour, you can start getting to know your fellow travelers right in the Go Ahead Tours app. Whether you’re swapping tips before departure or coordinating dinner plans while on tour, the app makes it easy to connect with your group.

Messaging other travelers on your tour
- Open the Go Ahead Tours app on your smartphone or tablet.
- Log in to your account.
- Tap the Tours icon (the compass) at the bottom of the screen.
- Select your upcoming tour.
- Scroll down to the Connect with travelers section.
Social features
Travelers
- Tap the Travelers icon to view a list of everyone on your tour.
- You’ll see first names, last initials, and profile pictures. Tap a traveler’s name to view their bio (if they’ve added one).
Chat
- Tap the Chat icon to message everyone on your tour who has downloaded and logged in to the app.
- You can also access all your past and future chat conversations by tapping the Chat icon at the bottom of the screen.
- From here, you’ll see your tour’s main group chat, plus any private or small group chats you’ve started or joined.
To start a new conversation:
- Tap New chat in the top right corner.
- Select your upcoming tour.
- Check off the traveler(s) you’d like to message.
- Tap Start to begin the chat.
Guidelines for your chat
At Go Ahead Tours, we’re committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all travelers. When connecting with your fellow tourmates in the group chat, we ask that you please keep the following guidelines - in line with our Traveler Rules of the Road - in mind:
- Be mindful of your words and use appropriate language.
- Treat one another with respect.
- Do not share inappropriate, offensive, or discriminatory content.
- Approach sensitive topics, such as politics or religion, with care and respect, and avoid conversations that may make others uncomfortable or excluded.
- Do not offer legal or medical advice to fellow travelers.
To ensure the group chat is welcoming, positive, and focused on your upcoming adventure together, comments or messages that do not follow these guidelines may be removed by EF Go Ahead Tours.
Photos
- Tap the Photos icon to view a gallery of images and videos shared in your tour’s chat conversations.
- To share your own, go to the main group chat and tap the paperclip icon to upload photos or videos.
Updating your profile
Before introducing yourself, we recommend customizing your profile so your tourmates can get to know you.
- Tap the More icon (three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner.
- Select My profile near the top of the page.
- Tap Edit in the top right corner.
- Tap Edit photo to upload a profile picture.
- Add a short bio in the space provided.
- Tap Save when you’re done.
Next steps:
- Log in to the Go Ahead app and open your upcoming tour.
- View your tourmates and start chatting.
- Upload a profile photo and bio to introduce yourself.
