Your options for changing or canceling your tour
We look forward to assisting you with your travel plans! For your security, most reservation changes, including cancellations, must be handled over the phone with our Support Team.
Here’s a breakdown of your options:
Reschedule your tour
Want to avoid cancellation fees? You can rebook your tour for a new date or switch to a different tour altogether. Rebooking fees may apply.
If you're interested in rebooking, there are a few ways to get started:

Put your reservation on hold
Need more time to decide? We can remove you from your current tour and freeze your account and all funds for 90 days. During that time, you can rebook or cancel. This option may not be available if you’re past your Tour Finalization Date, so reach out to confirm your eligibility.
Cancel your tour
If you’ve decided not to travel, we’ll walk you through the cancellation process and review your options, so you know exactly what to expect. Here’s how to get in touch:

Understanding our cancellation policy
If you're within your Fully Refundable Booking Period, you can cancel and receive a full refund to your original form of payment. Here are the periods:
- AutoPay travelers: Cancel within 30 days of booking
- Paid in full at booking: Cancel within 30 days of booking
- All other travelers: Cancel within 72 hours of booking
After this period, or if your Tour Finalization Date passes, cancellation fees will apply.
To be eligible for the 30 day cancellation window, you must sign up for AutoPay or pay in full at time of booking. If you do not sign up for AutoPay or pay in full at time of booking, and then later sign up or pay in full, you are not eligible for a retroactive 30 day cancellation window.
If you purchased AnyReason Protection (U.S. travelers/Canadian travelers), you can receive a future travel voucher for any cancellation fees and a refund for the remaining balance (minus the cost of your Trip Protection package).
What is the Tour Finalization Date?
This is the date when your tour is confirmed and we begin to finalize all tour details. If you're not enrolled in AutoPay, it's also when your final payment is due. Most tours finalize 70 days before departure, but for Land & Cruise Tours, Customized Tours, and tours with the Rocky Mountaineer, it’s 90 days before departure.
Cancellation fees by tour type
Fees are based on how close you are to your departure date. The days listed below refer to the number of days prior to departure. All fees are per person and include the non-refundable reservation fee of $300 or $450. If you purchased a Travel Protection plan, that cost is always nonrefundable.
European land tours
- 71+ days: $300
- 70–46 days: Greater of $1,000 or 30% of the total cost of the tour
- 45–8 days: Greater of $1,000 or 50% of the total cost of the tour
- 7–0 days: 100%
Non-European land & special event tours
- 71+ days: $450
- 70–46 days: Greater of $1,000 or 30% of the total cost of the tour
- 45–8 days: Greater of $1,000 or 50% of the total cost of the tour
- 7–0 days: 100%
Land & cruise, customized, and Rocky Mountaineer tours
- 91+ days: $450
- 90–61 days: Greater of $1,000 or 30% of the total cost of the tour
- 60–46 days: Greater of $1,000 or 50% of the total cost of the tour
- 45–14 days: 75%
- 13–0 days: 100%
Rwanda tours
- 91+ days: $1,000
- 90–61 days: Greater of $1,500 or 30% of the total cost of the tour
- 60–46 days: Greater of $1,800 or 50% of the total cost of the tour
- 45–14 days: 75% of the total cost of the tour
- 13–0 days: 100% of the total cost of the tour
Pre- and post-stays or extensions
- 71+ days: $0
- 70–46 days: 30% of cost
- 45–8 days: 50% of cost
- 7–0 days: 100% of cost
If you cancel a pre- or post-stay within 45 days of departure and need to change flights booked through Go Ahead, a $300 flight rebooking fee per traveler (plus fare difference) will apply.
