Use a hearing aid or cochlear implant? Curious if your tour includes assistive tech to help you hear your guide more clearly? We’re here to help make sure you don’t miss a moment.
We want every traveler to feel confident, included, and fully engaged on tour. Many of our itineraries include headset receivers for guided sightseeing. For those using assisted listening devices, we offer a few helpful solutions to improve your experience.
What We Can Provide
Most tours include headset receivers with a standard earbud. If you use a hearing aid or cochlear implant, we may be able to provide:
- Induction loops (compatible with many hearing aids)
- Over-ear headphones
- AUX-compatible headset receivers (bring your own device and AUX cord)
Please note: Headsets aren’t available on all tours due to local supplier limitations, particularly our tours to Latin America, Africa, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. We recommend making your request at least 45 days before departure to give us the best chance of accommodating your needs.
If you require ASL interpretation, you’ll need to travel with a personal interpreter. We’re happy to offer flexible discounts for interpreters traveling for this purpose.
How to Request an Assistive Headset
If You’re Booking a Tour:
- Call us at 1-800-590-1161 (U.S.) or 1-800-719-9805 (Canada)
- Let your Tour Consultant know what type of device you use and what you’ll need on tour
If You’re Already Booked
- Log in to your online account (U.S. travelers/Canadian travelers) or mobile app (U.S. travelers/Canadian travelers)
- Navigate to your Health Notes
- Under “Medical,” leave a note requesting an assistive headset
- Indicate your preference: induction loop or over-ear headphones
- Click Submit
Even if you’re bringing your own device, we still recommend leaving a note so your Tour Director is aware and can support you on the ground.
We’ll follow up if headsets aren’t available on your itinerary, or if we need more details from you.
Next steps:
- Add your assisted listening request to your health notes
- Bring your own AUX cord if you’re using personal equipment
- Contact us early to discuss your needs
