Here’s how upgrades work, what they typically cost, and how to make a request.
What to know about flight upgrades
Flight upgrades are available upon request when you book Go Ahead’s airfare package. While we can’t guarantee availability, we’ll always do our best to accommodate based on the airline, aircraft, location, and availability.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Upgrades apply only to the long-haul, overseas portions of your itinerary
- All upgrade prices are in addition to the cost of standard economy flights
- Prices may increase by 20% or more during peak seasons like summer and holidays
- Canadian travelers: Costs are subject to exchange rates
- First Class upgrades are not available through Go Ahead
- Traveling with a Group Coordinator? Upgrades on your group's flights are not guaranteed. When submitting your request, let us know if staying with your group is your top priority or if you’re open to taking an alternative route.
Business Class upgrades
Business Class offers a top-tier experience, including:

- Europe: $3,000–$5,500 USD
- Africa: $4,000–$6,000 USD
- Australia & New Zealand: $7,500–$12,500 USD
- Asia: $3,500–$6,500 USD
- South America (including Cuba): $2,000–$5,200 USD
- North America: Not available due to airline contracts
Premium Economy upgrades
Premium Economy is a great in-between option if you’re looking for added comfort and value. These seats offer:

- Europe: $1,500–$3,000 USD (not available for Iceland tours)
- Africa: $1,500–$3,000 USD (very limited availability)
- Australia & New Zealand: $2,500–$5,000 USD (not available if returning from Fiji)
- Asia: $1,500–$3,000 USD (very limited availability)
- South America & North America: Not available due to airline contracts
How to request a flight upgrade
- At booking: Let us know you’re interested in an upgrade when you reserve your tour
- Already booked? Submit a flight request before your Tour Finalization Date
We aim to respond within 5-10 business days.
Important: We're unable to secure specific seating preferences in the economy cabin (like extra legroom, exit row, bulkhead). These must be requested directly through the airline once your flights are ticketed.
