What Is Extended Travel Protection?
Extended Travel Protection is an optional add-on that extends your travel protection coverage beyond your core tour dates. It is designed for travelers who are arriving early, staying late, or deviating from the standard tour flight schedule — in other words, any time you are traveling independently outside of your guided tour itinerary.
Important: Standard travel protection only covers you for the dates of your tour. If an incident occurs during your independent travel days and you do not have extended coverage, you may not be covered.
Many travelers assume their existing coverage automatically extends to their pre- or post-stay days. This is not the case. Extended Travel Protection must be added separately to ensure you are protected for every day of your trip.
Who Should Add Extended Travel Protection?
You may be eligible to add Extended Travel Protection if any of the following apply to you:
- You have the Go Ahead Tours flight package and are extending your stay — for example, arriving early or departing later than your tour's scheduled dates
- You have a Pre- or Post-Stay booked through Go Ahead Tours
- You are arranging your own flights and a Pre- or Post-Stay booked through Go Ahead Tours
How Much Does Extended Travel Protection Cost?
Extended coverage is priced at $25 per day, per traveler.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need Extended Travel Protection if I already have a travel protection plan? Yes. Standard travel protection covers your tour dates only. Any days you spend traveling independently — before or after your tour — require Extended Travel Protection to be covered.
What happens if I don't add Extended Travel Protection? If an incident occurs during your independent travel days without having extended coverage, you may be responsible for all associated costs, as those days fall outside the scope of your standard travel protection plan.
When should I add Extended Travel Protection? We recommend adding Extended Travel Protection at the same time you book your pre- or post-stay, or as soon as you know you will be deviating from the standard tour flight schedule. Otherwise, the deadline to add insurance is your Tour Finalization Date.
