Whether you’re managing food allergies, environmental sensitivities, or seasonal reactions, we want you to feel confident and supported throughout your journey. A few proactive steps can help ensure a smoother experience while traveling.
Food allergies
Traveling with food allergies or dietary restrictions? We’re here to help you feel comfortable and cared for at every meal.
- Verify or update your health notes: The best way to ensure we can support you is to update your health notes. Make sure any updates are submitted by 30 days prior to departure.
- Be specific: Let us know if your allergy is severe or if cross-contamination is a concern.
- Meal support on tour: Your Tour Director will be informed of your dietary needs and can help guide you to safe meal options. Keep in mind that some destinations may have limited alternatives.
- Pack your medication: If you carry an EpiPen or other allergy medication, keep it in your carry-on in its original packaging, along with a copy of your prescription.
- Bring extra medication: Travel delays can happen, so it’s a good idea to pack more than you expect to need.
Material allergies
If you have allergies to materials like down feathers or latex, we can help make your hotel stay more comfortable.
- Let us know in advance: Make sure allergies are listed in your health notes so we can submit a request to the hotels for accommodations.
- Requests are not guaranteed, but we’ll do our best to advocate on your behalf and communicate with your Tour Director and hotel staff.
- Consider packing your own items: If you have highly specific needs, such as hypoallergenic pillowcases, you may want to bring them with you.
Seasonal and outdoor allergies
Traveling to a new climate or region can bring you in contact with allergens like pollen or dust.
- Pack your preferred allergy medication: Keep it in your carry-on in its original packaging and bring a copy of your prescription if needed.
- Ask your Tour Director for help: If you need to purchase allergy medication while on tour, your Tour Director can help you find a local pharmacy. Some countries may have allergy medications that are more easily accessible than others.
- Consider wearing a mask: In areas with high pollen counts or dust, a mask can help reduce exposure.
