Our Group Size Philosophy
When it comes to group travel, the size of the group really does make a difference. The number of travelers on your tour can shape everything from how easily you connect with others to how smoothly your days unfold. That’s why we’re intentional about keeping our groups just the right size.
The Right Size Advantage
At Go Ahead Tours, we’ll never have more than 38 travelers on a tour, and our group size ranges from 6 to 38, depending on the tour - we call this the Right Size Advantage. This group size is smaller than the industry standard of 45, and allows for meaningful connections, smooth logistics, and plenty of personal space, so you can focus on enjoying the journey.
Here’s why that matters:
- It’s easier to get to know your fellow travelers.
- You’ll have more personal time with your Tour Director and local guides.
- The overall travel experience feels more relaxed and personalized.
Each tour’s group size is thoughtfully tailored to the experience:
- Smaller groups are common on tours that explore remote natural landscapes. These allow for access to unique accommodations and off-the-beaten-path destinations. Think: Game drives through Kenya's National Parks.
- Larger groups work well in bustling cities and cultural hubs, where local infrastructure can comfortably support more travelers. Think: Wandering the metropolitan streets of London, Paris, and Rome.
- In some places, local regulations may also determine the maximum group size allowed on a motor coach.
Looking for something even more intimate? We also offer Small Group Tours with just 12 to 22 travelers (U.S. travelers/Canadian travelers). These tours are perfect if you’re craving a cozier, more immersive experience.
